  • Pilates is a comprehensive way to develop the body through core strength, flexibility, balance/coordination, and mind/body awareness. Pilates uses springs to provide resistance. Pilates emphasizes smooth, controlled movement with concentration and proper breathing for muscle alignment and strengthening. Regardless of age or activity level, each patient benefits from Pilates.

  • An entirely hands-on treatment. Our Physical Therapists perform skilled techniques that include soft tissue work and mobilization/manipulation. When performing soft tissue work, therapists apply pressure to the body's soft tissues, such as the muscles. Generally, we use this pressure to mobilize the joints while helping relax muscles, increase circulation, break up scar tissue, and reduce/eliminate soft tissue inflammation. These techniques assist in relieving pain and correcting joint mechanics.

  • Pelvic floor therapy focuses on the pelvic floor's muscles, ligaments, and connective tissues. This type of therapy is often used to treat conditions such as urinary incontinence, pelvic pain, and sexual dysfunction. Our physical therapist works with patients to strengthen and relax the pelvic floor muscles, improve blood flow to the area, and promote overall pelvic health. Including Pilates as part of the treatment also helps strengthen and stabilize the pelvic floor muscles. Pilates exercises are often low-impact and can be customized to meet each patient's specific needs, making them an excellent option for those undergoing pelvic floor therapy.

  • Trigger Point Dry Needling is a valuable treatment used to decrease muscular pain and stiffness. Practitioners use a fine, flexible, and sterile needle (similar to those used for acupuncture) to release shortened bands of muscle tissue known as trigger points. In addition, easing the trigger points may improve flexibility and increase range of motion. We use this method to treat sports injuries, muscle pain, and even fibromyalgia pain.

  • Cupping Therapy effectively releases trigger points, myofascial adhesions, reduces pain, and reduces swelling. Cupping Therapy works to suction soft tissue, which allows for increased blood flow and circulation. We integrate Cupping Therapy to treat lymphatic drainage, scar tissue breakdown, myofascial adhesions, and even migraine relief without prescription medication.

  • ASTYM® (A-stim) treatment sets the standard for soft tissue therapy. It regenerates healthy soft tissues (muscles, tendons, etc.) and removes unwanted scar tissue causing pain or movement restrictions. This technique effectively treats tendinitis such as tennis elbow and plantar fasciitis and other soft tissue dysfunctions.

  • Kinesio tape gently lifts the skin from the tissues— skin, muscles, connective tissue, fascia — creating space for improved blood and lymphatic flow. By decompressing the tissues, Kinesio taping aids in alleviating pressure and reducing swelling. In some cases, decompressing the pain sensors can potentially break the cycle of tension, swelling, and pain by sending a new signal to the brain.

  • “The one on one services at Tri Physical Therapy are nothing short of exceptional. Barb is extremely knowledgeable, and her technical knowledge and skills are matched by her friendly and caring approach. Barb has assembled an outstanding team including physical and massage therapists and administrative staff who are focused on patients’ individual needs. I cannot say enough positive things about the unique environment and approach at Tri Physical Therapy, including therapeutic use of Pilates reformers. I have enjoyed my physical therapy sessions so much that I plan to continue Pilates indefinitely. If you’re thinking about it, please make an appointment with Barb or her staff. You won’t regret it!”

  • “I was recently cleared for PT after fracturing several vertebrae so I'm very cautious about who I see. As soon as I met Barb and Karen I knew they weren't your run-of-the-mill physical therapists. This is a very different experience!! Not a busy gym clinic where you feel like another number. Whip smart PTs!! Excellent bedside manner! Gorgeous clinic! Great staff! Best massage! Can't wait to be back this winter full time!!”
