Barbara Goldsworthy PT, DPT, ASTYM

Barbara Goldsworthy first received her Bachelor of Science in Health at Saint Francis University of Pennsylvania. She continued her studies, receiving her Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2012. During high school, Barbara was diagnosed with severe scoliosis that required surgery, fusing 12 levels of her thoracic/lumbar spine. It was through this experience that Barbara realized her love for Physical Therapy and  passion for helping others recover their full potential through better biomechanics.

After graduating she returned to her home state where she began her career as a Physical Therapist in New York at a wellness center that included Pilates as part of their treatment. Barbara quickly gained a deep appreciation for Pilates after seeing the benefits in her own health and adopted it as a powerful tool in treating her patients. She relocated to Phoenix, Arizona, and gained experience treating orthopedic conditions, post-op rehabilitation, and neurological conditions such as Parkinson's and stroke patients while working for a privately owned orthopedic clinic where she treated patients of all ages, ranging from 2 months to 98 years old.

Barbara completed her Pilates training through Balanced Body, and now uses Pilates equipment at her own practice in addition to her physical therapy skills to address pain and promote positive movement patterns. With her warm, caring touch she motivates her patients, helping them achieve positive outcomes.

Barbara lives in Old Town Scottsdale with her husband. When she’s not eagerly engaged in advancing her physical therapy knowledge, Barbara enjoys traveling, snowboarding, scuba diving, and of course Pilates.
